WHAT IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC?

The procedure whereby a Canadian Food Inspection Agency accredited certification body provides written assurance that agricultural products are organic as defined in and for the purposes of the regulations. Certification of products may be based on a range of inspection activities including verification of management practices, auditing of quality assurance systems and in/out production balances.

ARE ORGANIC PRODUCTS CHEMICAL FREE?

When you choose organic products you greatly reduce your exposure to chemicals, as no chemicals can be applied during the growing or harvest. Sadly, chemical agriculture already contaminates much of our soil and water and these residues can sometimes show up in our food, even organic food. Certified organic greatly reduces our exposure to harmful chemicals and over time can reduce this chemical legacy.
